đź“… Date: April 4, 2025
⏰ Time: 5:30 – 6:30 PM
📍 Locations: Cox Auditorium & YouTube Live Stream

The lecture “Exploring Split Cane Fishing Rods: Past, Present, and Future” by Tim Abbott, who describes himself as a “Master Bamboo Rod Maker,” will delve into the history and development of these rods, the methods of construction (some of which will be demonstrated), and the reasons why bamboo remains relevant after over 175 years of use. The discussion will also address areas yet to explore.

Tim has been featured in “The Art of Angling Journal” and in a leading Japanese fly-fishing magazine; his article was translated and included in the book “Radical Rod Makers.” Additionally, he has been interviewed twice by the New York Times, resulting in positive mentions in the arts and leisure section.
