Our popular interactive workshops and field trips know as River Rat Days are back this summer! This year, each River Rat Day will be a full day camp, each focusing on a different theme and for different age ranges.

River Rat Day 1: Something Fishy
June 28 | 11:00-3:00pm
Come and spend the day at the ABM to learn all about fishing! With the help of Save the River and the Clayton Island Fishing Guides, you will learn all the fish species that reside in the river, have the chance to paint with fish, learn to rig a fishing pole, and even go fishing right on the St. Lawrence River!
This camp is best suited for younger kids ages 5-8.
Class Size: 10 participants

River Rat Day 2: Flora and Fauna of the St. Lawrence
July 14 | 10:00-2:00pm
Ever wonder what’s really going on in the water of the St. Lawrence River? This is your chance to find out! Join Save the River and ABM to try your hand at water quality sampling and testing, marine plant identification, trawling for macroinvertebrates, and so much more! You will learn all about what really goes on beneath the surface of St. Lawrence.
This camp is best suited for younger kids ages 9-14.

River Rat Day 3: Bird Adventures – Merganser Madness
July 27 | 10:00-2:00pm
From the river to the sky, some animals have the amazing ability to be everywhere all at once. Join the ABM and the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center for a day devoted to learning all about the unique and diverse species of local aquatic birds that live on the St. Lawrence. This camp is bound to be an adventure as we spend the day identifying species, crafting, and even heading out into the 1000 Islands in search of some rare feathered friends.
This camp is best suited for younger kids ages 9-14.
