The Miller S. and Adelaide S. Gaffney Gallery explores the many different ways in which boats go with the exhibit Oar Else! The exhibit features early Dr. Seuss illustrations from Essomarine (now ExxonMobil) advertisements of the 1930’s and 1940’s. In Seussian fashion, the illustrations portray familiar Seuss characters moving their boats in a variety of creative ways, helping to get children (and adults) thinking about what really is possible when it comes to small craft propulsion.
