Antique Boat Museum - School Programs

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS: An Empire State Partnership Program
The Antique Boat Museum has established a partnership with the Thousand Islands Central School District for two Empire State Partnership programs funded by the New York State Council on the Arts. These Arts-in-Education projects work with students in grades K-5, teaching them about their local history and culture through curriculum aligned units infused with the arts. Each grade level works not only with their teachers and the Museum educator, but also local artisans to complete a different traditional folk art project which is exhibited at the Museum.

TEACHERS' RESOURCES
A River Curriculum Outreach Program. The Museum has a wealth of material to lend teachers for use in their classrooms to enhance the learning experiences of students. If travel to the Museum is not possible, Museum educators will bring a lesson to the students in school. Teachers may also contact the Museum to borrow images from our photograph collection, selected artifacts and books, or boating related items. Please see our Teachers' Resources page.

FIELD TRIPS
Trips are tailored to each group and may include a guided tour of the Museum exhibits and collections, a nautically-themed art project and lesson, or a ride in a boat. School classes, scout packs, and other childrens' groups may contact the Museum's Education Department to schedule a field trip.
