ACBS & ABM Symposium

On the weekend of May 4-6, 2012 the Antique Boat Museum and the Antique and Classic Boat Society are proud to present “Preservation or Replacement,” an educational, hands-on symposium.

The leaders for the weekend’s presentations include Don Danenberg, Bo and Kathy Muller, Mike Corrigan, Dave Van Ness, and Scott Smith. Saturday will be a full day of small group workshops focused on plank repair and replacement, staining and varnishing techniques, inboard marine engine maintenance and trouble shooting, and outboard motor restoration and maintenance. Tony Mollica will lead an informative presentation on the historical design and engineering techniques of popular boat builders. On Sunday the presenters will hold a panel discussion with recommendations for properly winterizing your boat as well as preparing  it for a new boating season. Participants in the symposium will also have a private tour of the Doebler Building which houses almost half of the Museum’s Collection, led by Emmett Smith, Curator of Watercraft.
