Launch Building

The Cleveland E. Dodge Launch Building displays some of the most notable powered pleasure boats, including a steam launch, the only working naptha engine in existence, runabouts, and cruisers that have put the Antique Boat Museum on the map.  These include the famous Gar Wood speedster, Miss Behave, the Hutchinson Brothers Boat Works, Idle Oaks, and EJ Noble’s Gar Wood racer, Snail, equipped with her Liberty aircraft engine. Also on display are other playful runabouts from Gar Wood, Chris Craft, and Dodge Boat Works. Climb aboard and explore the 39’ Lyman Seagull. Don’t forget about our  outboard motor exhibit that spans the development of marine propulsion systems from the late 1800s to post World War II.
