Oar, Paddle & Sail Nights
OAR, PADDLE & SAIL NIGHTS
The Museum is pleased to announce its plan for Oar, Paddle & Sail Nights in 2008.
Due to the popularity of the Wednesday Night Sailing program, we want to expand on the good times had by all of our sailors. Wednesday nights have been the time that we open the Museum gates free to the public so community members and visitors can come and experience sailing in our fleet of sailboats. But why stop at sailing? We also have a tremendous bunch of small craft in our livery that are rowed and paddled. So, in July 2008 we will start Oar, Paddle & Sail Nights in which we will still open our gates in the evening free of charge, but participants will now be able to try all different types of small craft.
If you are not yet a rower, paddler, or sailor, it does not matter. We will have plenty of experienced staff and volunteers onsite to take you out on the water. We just want you to come try something new! Or if you have on-water experience come try some new (or old) boats and meet some great people here on the River.
Oar, Paddle & Sail Nights will kick-off July 9, 2008 at 5:00pm with a BBQ and boat rides. The program will run each Wednesday evening except during Boat Show and Regatta when we will hold it on Monday.
2008 Dates:
July 9, 16, 23 & 28(Monday)
August 6, 11(Monday) & 20
Time: 5:00 PM
Tuition: This program is free and no registration is required. Boats cannot be reserved ahead of time.
*OPS Nights will only be cancelled due to inclement weather - call 686.4104 x232 before 5:00 PM to confirm cancellations.
